Recognising the meaning behind glove safety symbols

When buying nitrile protective gloves it's important to recognise and understand the safety symbols used for specifying protection levels seen on the packaging. It is critical that medical products are manufactured to a very high standard at all times for your safety. Each glove box will not only have a CE mark and EN Standards number, but also a range of different safety symbols which indicate information about that product.

PPE PICTOGRAMS EXPLAINED:

There are a number of different symbols and icons you will receive on the packaging of your glove order which all mean different things (see picture). Our glove experts at Hannaford PPE have put together the guide below to make sure you have maximum safety and understand all the important symbols.

Recyclable

Some elements of the product and/or packaging are recyclable.

This icon suggests you should keep the product away from sunlight or fluorescent light.

Keep in a cool dry place

This icon indicates that you should store the product in a cool, dry place.

Temperature

 This indicates that you should store at your product at temperatures no less than 2°C and no more than 25°C.

Indicates that the product is intended for one use only, or for use on a single patient during a single procedure.
